(As of June’2023) I’m currently using a Sony Alpha 7R IV as my main camera body and DJI Mavic 2 Pro as a secondary. Great lenses which I own (all Sony) and are in my backpack most often (not all at once, sometimes all) are:
I also use Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max for those times when I want something very light and capable to serve as a creative tool in thinking through photographic ideas.
Other equipment I use:
-
I shoot RAW since it captures all details as compared to JPEG.
-
-
Yes, I keep a second copy of RAW files on another hard drive.
-
I try to store files indefinitely, however, after one year I only delete rejected RAW files.
-
I select/CULL my photos with aftershoot, basic correction, and color grade my images in Lightroom (Classic/CC on iPad) with my own custom Lightroom Presets, and retouch in Photoshop or in Luminar Neo.
-
I make use of topographical maps and of course weather forecasts, including satellite images. My primary tools for researching locations are:
Maps - Google Earth, Google Maps, and Apple Maps,
Clear outside, for knowing cloud cover,
LightPollutionMap for finding locations with less light,
DJI GO 4 and B4UFLY for registering drone flights and ensuring I am flying in an unrestricted area,
Dumb luck goes a long way too.
-
I do share locations in EXIF data of each image but only the ones which are popular and publically known.
For very specific, less-known ones, I share location information only in private conversations when asked. This practice helps to ensure the preservation of locations. Some locations are especially fragile and others can accommodate a lot of traffic, but having a blanket policy works for me so that I am not having to make judgment calls about how fragile a particular place may be. All-natural places benefit from protection. Therefore, sharing location information only when asked allows me a chance to share conservation advice at the same time. Thanks for understanding!
Location information may include:
The proper names of features, such as mountain peaks.
Answers to yes/no questions regarding location.
Directions.
Coordinates.

It depends,
For landscapes, preferred is the golden hour (Sunrise/sunset),
For cityscapes, sometimes I prefer nighttime.
For Astro, based on what I am shooting, I choose moonlight or no moonlight.
Though, I can shoot throughout any time of day though!

I am based in the Greater Seattle area, Washington, USA.
